It is unfortunate but we cannot hold the race this upcoming weekend. Details below.
From MCQMX and KDBC:
“☆☆☆☆Important race news☆☆☆☆
Change of venue this coming weekend for Kawasaki BC Championship round 3 where points count for South series as well. Whispering Pines will hold the event as it is the only place we can safely race due to BC wildfires and dry conditions. Thompson Okanagan forestry manager stated this morning that the Kelowna track is on crown land and has moved into the Orv ban. We are sorry for all of you riders who were looking forward to Kelowna and we will be making some changes to whispering pines to keep it interesting.
The good news is we are racing!
MCQMX thanks you for your continued support! ”
Sorry for any/all inconveniences! We have gotten a lot of questions and to clarify-we did not cancel the race because of a fire risk for the weekend. The land our track sits on is on crown land, therefore, we cannot have anyone riding until we are notified that the ban has been lifted from the appropriate people including regional district/forestry manager. Stay posted as we will let you all know as soon as we can. Sorry for the inconvenience but we cannot control Mother Nature!
